Jurgen Klopp would be the ‘absolute dream solution’ for Germany once he leaves Liverpool this summer, and there could be a way for them to get him.

That’s according to SportBILD, who cover the Germany situation today and how they could formulate a plan to get Klopp in charge eventually.

Klopp is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at the club and has made it clear he will be going on sabbatical to recharge his batteries and take some time away from football.

That would automatically put him out of contention for the Germany job, which could be up for grabs in the summer as Julian Nagelsmann’s contract only runs until the end of Euro 2024.

Whether he remains in the position, or indeed wants to remain in the position after that point is a big unknown at this point in time but should he go, the Liverpool manager would be the ‘absolute dream solution’.

The problem is that he doesn’t want to take another job for at least a year and plans to stick to that, although he was lured to Liverpool three months into a one-year break after his time at Borussia Dortmund.

Many at the DFB are hoping they could lure him into work for March 2025 to lead the team until the 2026 World Cup, thus allowing him a 10 month break following his exit from Liverpool.

They would ‘bridge’ the gap, which would be six Nations League games, by placing Julian Nagelsmann’s current assistant Sandro Wagner in charge alongside DFB director Hannes Wolf.

That’s a solution supported by Didi Hamann, who believes Germany must do everything they can to get Klopp if he is interested.

“If Jurgen Klopp wants to do it, you have to find a temporary solution,” he said.

“Then there is no better solution than Wagner and Wolf: They know the store, are loyal employees and could keep the space free wonderfully.”
