If you’re an Arsenal fan and up for some really positive yet probably shaky transfer news, then sit back for the latest claims from Don Balon.
The Spanish rumour website say Luka Modric is looking more and more away from Real Madrid. Arsenal are pushed towards the front of the queue for the former Tottenham star and are ready to put their €60m offer ‘on the table’.
Arsene Wenger’s side believe Modric can be the ‘vital piece’ in their rebuilding and there’ll be ‘no expense spared’ to get him to the Emirates.
But Arsenal aren’t the only ones interested, Liverpool are also said to be keen, as Jurgen Klopp looks to rebuild his midfield. Then there’s Tottenham, who would be willing to use the sentimental option to get Modric back at the club.
Modric turns 33 years of age in September, whilst he may be a player more about brain than pace, a figure of €60m sounds somewhat outrageous.
Tottenham certainly wouldn’t pay it and it’s very unlikely anyone else would either. Don Balon have stretched this one too far.
