BeinSportsTr report Besiktas have agreed personal terms with Sunderland’s Jeremain Lens.
The Sunderland winger has been impressive in preseason for the Championship side, but his future remains uncertain. His chances of staying with Sunderland are looking slim, and a return to Turkey is a strong possibility.
After an injury to Gokhan Tore, Besiktas entered the race for the Sunderland winger, and Lens is now a prime target for the Turkish champions. Fenerbahçe now look out of the picture to sign Lens after their manager Aykut Kocaman reportedly said he’s not keen on working with the Netherlands international.
Besiktas have to convince Sunderland over a permanent sale, and talks will continue in the coming days.
Lens put in some impressive displays whilst on loan with Fenerbahçe last season, and in recent weeks he’s not hidden his desire to return to Turkey. His preference was to again play for the Yellow Canaries, but Besiktas can still offer him an escape from Sunderland.
