Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen has been quizzed by the Spanish media with regards to legendary manager Don Revie. The Dane was recently installed as Leeds United’s new manager after the departure of Garry Monk.
Speaking to Sport, Christiansen was asked if he knew about Revie before he took the Leeds United job.
The 44-year-old said he doesn’t know much about the former manager, but has heard of him. Christiansen said when he arrived at Elland Road he was impressed by the statue of Leeds United legend Billy Bremner, as it showed the passion for football at the club.
The former Barcelona player knows all about managerial legends, and was asked by Sport if he considers himself a ‘child of Cruyff’: “Of course. I am a ‘Cruyffista’ and with pride. In soccer I try to apply what I learned.”
Christiansen arrives at Leeds United after winning the Cypriot league with APOEL last season, and the former Barcelona player will be expected to be challenging for promotion next season.
In recent weeks there’s been a total overhaul of the back-room at the Championship club, including Christiansen replacing Monk, and a big season is planned for Leeds United.
