There’s perhaps no club which has a greater fear of doing business with Tottenham Hotspur than Real Madrid.
Los Blancos have had multiple battles with Spurs down the years after being pushed into paying more than they expected for the likes of Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, and being pushed out of the Harry Kane picture due to the demands.
Now they have their eyes set on Pedro Porro as they search for a new right-back. Dani Carvajal is out for a prolonged period after picking up a knee injury, and with the defender turning 33-years-of-age in January there’s obviously a need to look towards a successor.
According to AS, and their Sunday edition, there’s some concern building at Real Madrid regarding the number of Spanish players in the team. The ‘quota’ is felt to be too small, and that would obviously help Porro’s case.
There’s no illusion regarding the difficulty – and expense – of agreeing a deal with Tottenham, with AS pointing out a move certainly wouldn’t be cheap.
