Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has concerns over Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister’s involvement against Venezuela.

The World Cup winners travel to Maturín to face Venezuela tomorrow before hosting Bolivia next Tuesday. La Albiceleste have regrouped in Miami, Florida, for a training camp prior to their trip to Venezuela.

Wednesday’s edition of Clarín claims Scaloni and his staff have to deal with the weather and injury concerns to some of their players, including Mac Allister.

Florida is bracing itself for Hurricane Milton, currently a Category 5 hurricane, which is set to make landfall on Wednesday evening. The bad weather has already hit Florida, though, and has caused issues for training.

As well as the weather, Scaloni also has to worry about the Liverpool player and a few other doubts.

The 25-year-old played 45 minutes in the Reds’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend. He was replaced by Dominik Szoboszlai after the break.

According to the newspaper, Mac Allister came off due to an ‘adductor discomfort’ and he’s now wrapped ‘in cotton wool’ on international duty.

If the Liverpool midfielder isn’t fit to face Venezuela, Real Betis’ Giovani Lo Celso could take his place in the starting line. The former Tottenham Hotspur man may also feature alongside Mac Allister, if the latter were to start tomorrow.
