Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen’s decision to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a loan deal in the summer window has paid off.

The Denmark international has made nine appearances this season and has impressed for the Bundesliga side.

Last month, Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller said sporting director Markus Krösche has been working on the possibility of retaining the Leeds man beyond his loan spell.

Sky Deutschland state the right-back has left a ‘good impression’. The Bundesliga side are ‘very satisfied’ with his performances and have decided to buy him from the Whites.

The 27-year-old’s contract at Leeds lasts until 2027. As part of the loan deal, Eintracht Frankfurt have an option to make his stay permanent.

According to Sky, Eintracht Frankfurt want to exercise the purchase option of around €10-12m to retain the Dane permanently.

The Championship side took the fullback from Red Bull Salzburg in June 2022. He made 30 appearances for Leeds in his debut season at Elland Road.

Kristensen was allowed to spend last season on loan at AS Roma, before Daniel Farke’s side sanctioned another temporary move to Germany. He’s set to leave the English club permanently for Eintracht Frankfurt.
