Nottingham Forest bid ‘insufficient’ – Reds have 5 days to raise offer by €5.5m for signing

Two days ago, César Luis Merlo stated Nottingham Forest want to sign CA Talleres’ Ramón Sosa this summer.

On Thursday evening, the same journalist said the Reds have tabled an offer of €12.3m plus €2.3m bonuses. He also stated the Argentine club are ready to sell the winger, and want to earn as much as possible from the sale.

Paraguayan journalist Bruno Pont took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back up the Argentine club’s willingness to sell Sosa, and he gave the latest on Nottingham Forest.

He claims Nuno Espírito Santo’s side have offered $14m [€12.9m], without making it clear if this is including or excluding bonuses. That doesn’t matter so much because the South American club consider this proposal to be ‘insufficient’.

The Paraguay international’s deal lasts until December 2026, and Pont says Talleres have decided to retain him until the end of this year if no suitable new bid from Nottingham Forest or another club arrives in the next five days.

Pont claims the South American club want close to $20m [€18.4m], meaning Nottingham Forest have five days to raise their offer by €5.5m, to sign Sosa in this window.

We’ll soon find out whether Talleres are actually threatening to retain Sosa until December or if it’s just a tactic to put pressure on interested parties.
