Wolverhampton Wanderers decision to hand striker Fabio Silva an extended holiday this summer is being seen as a potential boost for Sevilla’s hopes of signing him.
That’s according to Estadio Deportivo, who report that Wolves appear to be pressing the Portuguese striker to leave, potentially boosting their hopes of getting him.
The newspaper explains that Silva has been given extended holidays by the Premier League club this summer, with him not participating along with the rest of the group in a pre-season trip to Marbella.
That’s being seen as a clear sign that he ‘must look for a way out’ and it’s been picked up on by Sevilla, who want to sign a new striker this summer, particularly if they sell Youssef En-Nesyri.
The fact that Wolves left the striker out of the group in Marbella and seem likely to leave him out of a group travelling to the USA too, means a deal could be there to be done and Sevilla are paying attention to the matter.
Silva’s agent also recently insisted he sees either Italy or Spain as his client’s next destination, further boosting the idea Sevilla could get their man.
The big issue is that the Spanish side are not in a position to offer a ‘very high transfer fee’ for the player, which may go against Wolves desire to try and make some money back on him.
So far there has been no mention of an amount that they’d like to recover but it has been suggested they want to focus on a permanent exit rather than another loan deal.
That would not suit Sevilla, but it seems they will explore their options anyway, boosted by the idea Wolves want rid.
