It’s no secret that West Ham United have been linked to several Brazilian players in the past couple of months, although only Luis Guilherme’s signing was made official.
The Hammers’ hunt in the South American country is today explained by Premier League Brasil, with the website bringing a very interesting piece on an advisor the club have.
The outlet explains that former defender Naldo was the man behind Luis Guilherme’s signing. The businessman is said to have a ‘great relationship’ with West Ham director Tim Steidten and has been suggesting promising players.
“Luis Guilherme has been outstanding for some time and has attracted interest from several clubs. I got in touch with Nick Arcuri (Luis Guilherme’s manager), we started to draw up the negotiation and in the end it was good for both clubs,” said Naldo.
It’s also said that last year, when West Ham tried to sign Yuri Alberto from Corinthians, it was also Naldo who suggested the signing. The former player also advised about the signing of Wesley, for whom the Hammers couldn’t find a deal this summer, at least not yet.
With the London side not stopping with Luis Guilherme and still linked to other Brazilians, it seems we now know one of the reasons for this specific strategy.
