Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso is back on Lazio’s transfer agenda, according to La Repubblica, relayed by Calciomercato.
The Biancocelesti had a chance to sign the 28-year-old last summer, but Maurizio Sarri, who was then in charge at the Serie A side, rejected it.
Lazio are now focusing on signing players below 25 years of age, but the report says their president, Claudio Lotito, and sporting director, Angelo Mariano Fabiani, could make an exception for the Tottenham midfielder.
The Argentina international could leave Tottenham in search of more game time, which wasn’t made available to him regularly under Ange Postecoglou. His deal lasts until 2025 and La Repubblica state it would cost €10m to take him away from Spurs.
Lazio, for their part, ‘will have to decide quickly’ whether or not to sign Lo Celso because there are other clubs interested in him. The report only names Napoli as another interested party.
Over the past few weeks, the Spanish press have stated Real Betis are keen on bringing him back to the club in the summer window. The La Liga side have to balance their accounts before considering an approach for Lo Celso.
