As Manchester City are still to make it official that Savinho will be in their squad for next season, the player can’t confirm the transfer either.
The winger, who’s part of Brazil’s squad for the Copa America, today held a press conference at the national team camp, and was asked about his future in Europe.
UOL cover the quotes and highlight that Savinho couldn’t hide his smile when asked about Manchester City. The player, however, didn’t want to make many comments on that.
“I know there are a lot of rumours about Manchester City, but I’m focused here on the Copa America and I don’t want to talk about it too much. I’m leaving it to my agents to decide off the pitch. I’m focused and we’ll have news soon.”
“I’m grateful to Girona. It changed my life, it got me into the national team. I’m very happy for what I’ve experienced at Girona. Here at the Copa America, I’ve worked all season and I’m working here to give my best on the pitch just like I did at the club.”
The youngster was also quizzed about his dreams, and didn’t say anything about Manchester City.
“My biggest dream was to make the national team. Now it’s to win the Copa America. Of course, everyone has the dream of playing in the World Cup, but I’m living in the present and my desire is to win the Copa America.”
Playing for Girona, Savinho had 11 goals and 10 assists in 41 appearances. Many outlets already reported that Manchester City have an agreement to bring him to England, so we continue waiting for the official announcement. The winger will now be focused on his first official tournament with the national team.
