Crystal Palace are today back to getting linked to Rapid Viena star Matthias Seidl.

This time, the mention to the Eagles was made in an interview the midfielder gave ahead of the end of the season.

In a story brought by Heute, it’s mentioned that Crystal Palace are one of the clubs who’ve been showing interest in him, along with Italian and German sides.

Seidl ended up acknowledging he likes to get involved in that type of transfer rumours, although he doesn’t confirm he’ll leave Rapid Viena this summer.

“Of course, it’s cool to be associated with that – whether it’s true or not remains to be seen. I just try to do my best. If it’s good enough for the next step, we’ll see. But the present is Rapid,” said Seidl.

Last summer, Rapid Viena only spent €400k to sign Seidl from Blau Weiss Linz. In his first season at the Austrian side, he has ten goals and seven assists in 41 appearances so far.

Now even though he’s valued by Transfermarkt at €2.5m, it’s very likely they can sell him for more, given the interest he’s been drawing.

Earlier this year, the player’s agent was interviewed about Crystal Palace’s interest, and despite not confirming any contacts, he mentioned the fact that Seidl’s compatriot Oliver Glasner is in charge of the Eagles and that could be something which ends up drawing him to Selhurst Park.
