Napoli will ‘try to start a negotiation’ with Manchester United for Willy Kambwala this summer as they look to finally fill the hole left behind by Kim Min-jae.
That’s according to Dot Sport, who say Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will try to take the youngster away from Old Trafford.
They explain that after suffering tremendously from selling Kim to Bayern Munich last summer, the plan this year is to find a player to fill that hole.
The club know they have a defensive problem and want to fix it, and now have their eyes set on Manchester United youngster Kambwala in an attempt to do so.
That’s not gone unnoticed by those in charge at Napoli, who have been impressed by the player’s impressive performances and ‘will try to start a negotiation’ with Manchester United in the summer.
Whether United will even entertain that remains to be seen, although you would think that they wouldn’t given Kambwala appears to be a star of the future.
They might sanction a loan deal depending on what signings are made in the summer, but that’s a big if at this point and Napoli’s interest, and belief they could get the player, may be a little bit delusional at this point. If it isn’t, it can certainly be classified as ambitious.
