Aston Villa have enjoyed an impressive season under the orders of Unai Emery. They are currently fourth in the table, three points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, and are in the race to win the UEFA Conference League.
The Villans will face Lille in the quarter-final of the European competition and have nine more games left in the league. Aston Villa’s Álex Moreno has set his sights on qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Moreno took advantage of the current break to visit his former club, Real Betis. He also gave an interview to the La Liga side’s official channels and his comments are relayed by AS.
“We are in Champions League positions, which we have been fighting for all year. Now there is the final stretch of the last games and everything will be decided there,” he said.
“We are going to fight to qualify. In the last games we will see what position we will be in, but we are going to fight to be at the top, to qualify. One of my dreams was to play in the Champions League, so we are going to fight to make it come true.”
Moreno missed the start of the season due to an injury and returned to the pitch at the end of November. The left-back has three goals from 23 appearances for Aston Villa.
