Fulham made an attempt to sign Olivier Giroud from AC Milan last month, according to reports from Italy.
It’s outlet CalcioMercato.it who today reveals it, bringing a story saying the striker turned down the attempt from the Craven Cottage residents.
It’s claimed that while still looking for a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic, Fulham went after Giroud and ‘tried to snatch him’ from Milan.
It’s said Giroud turned down the move because he’s ‘happy in Milan’ and is doing his best to lift some trophies with the club.
Featuring for the Italian giants this season, Giroud has 12 goals and nine assists in 27 appearances.
His contract with the Rossoneri expires in the summer, but there’s nothing clear about his future, with the website claiming he’s open to renewing his deal.
Depending on how things go by then, perhaps Fulham could get another chance to attract him to Craven Cottage.
With the striker having played for Arsenal and Chelsea before, he could maybe take the same path as Willian.
