Wolverhampton Wanderers star Matheus Cunha has admitted he now he feels he is fully adapted to life at the club but knows he can improve even more.
The Brazilian has been speaking to ESPN Brazil about his situation at Molineux and his improvement under Gary O’Neil this season.
The forward has been at Wolves on a permanent basis since the summer, when he joined the club for €50m from Atlético Madrid.
He had initially arrived at Molineux on loan in the January transfer window, joining at the beginning of the month to bolster then manager Julen Lopetegui’s squad.
However, there has been a dramatic turnaround under O’Neil since he replaced Lopetegui in the summer, with five goals and three assists in 17 games to date meaning he has already far surpassed what he managed last season.
And the Wolves man can sense that, insisting he thinks that he has finally adapted to life in England and is benefitting from that.
“Without a doubt. We have a very good streak, beating great opponents,” he said.
“I believe this is my best moment. Everyone goes through a period of adaptation and with me it was no different. I arrived a year ago, but it feels like I’ve been there for a long time.
“I believe that my adaptation was quite quick, six months later, half the season and we are already reaching good numbers, goal participations. But we always want more, we trust in ourselves and from now on we need to improve.”
