Jadon Sancho is ‘doing himself a disservice’ by taking his grievances at Manchester United public as the forward battles against Erik ten Hag.
That’s according to former Germany goalkeeper René Adler, who believes the winger needs to take a look at himself after a similar situation at Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho took to social media this weekend to defend himself after being left out of the squad for the late defeat to Arsenal.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag later commented on that situation and insisted Sancho had been left out of the squad as he and his team had been left unimpressed by his performances in training.
Sancho was quick to respond to those comments on social, insisting that people should not believe everything they read and claiming that he was being used as a scapegoat.
It has created something of a tense situation at Old Trafford, with it now believed that he is battling to save his Manchester United career after Ten Hag was left disappointed by the post.
Adler, meanwhile, believes the player should be looking at himself, particularly as this is not the first time, he’s been involved in such a situation.
‘This social media post is counterproductive to me. This should be kept internally and clarified through direct discussions’, he wrote in his column for Sky.
‘Let’s be honest: Ten Hag is a very direct coach, always honest and always puts the community above all else. He must have had a point there.
‘And Sancho, for example, was already removed from the squad at BVB under Lucien Favre due to disciplinary misconduct, which is just an aside…
“‘f I were him, I would take a look at myself and question why I might not be performing as well as I did in Dortmund, why I’m not delivering the scoring values and why I’m falling behind expectations.
‘However, the fact that he plays the offended liverwurst has exactly the opposite effect. That’s the wrong way, Sancho is doing himself a disservice’.
