West Ham United target Jonathan Tah has again admitted he is open to leaving Bayer Leverkusen this summer, with the Hammers reportedly reigniting their interest.
The defender has been speaking to Kicker regarding his future after months of speculation about a potential move away from Germany this summer.
The centre-back is a long-term target for West Ham, who have a longstanding interest in him but have never turned that into a concrete bid.
Reports in England have claimed that could be forthcoming after a potential move for Manchester United’s Harry Maguire did not come to fruition.
They explain that his future at Leverkusen remains unclear, despite him having a contract until 2025, as he wants to move to the Premier League and has made that clear on more than one occasion.
The newspaper again covers the interest from West Ham and says, while Tah does not appear to be first choice, the ‘unexpected turns’ of the transfer window could see that change. That is something Tah is certainly open to, admitting as much in his latest comments.
“The fact is: as of now, I’m here. And that’s my full focus,” he is quoted as saying.
“But I’ve said the whole time that anything can happen, but doesn’t have to, as long as the transfer window is open.”
