Despite the confidence that conversations are underway between Tottenham and KAA Gent for the transfer of Gift Orban, not everyone believes it will be an easy process.
Spurs are said to be targeting the Nigerian striker to help replace the gap left by Harry Kane’s transfer to Bayern Munich, and a report in Belgium stated that the deal was being negotiated.
That means Daniel Levy will be in talks with his Belgian counterparts to try and get the best deal possible for Tottenham, as RTBF suggest he isn’t overly happy with their requests at this moment in time.
They explain that Gent wanting ‘more than €30m’ for their player, which they are entirely entitled to do considering his goalscoring record, hasn’t gone down well in London.
In fact, that figure ‘scares Spurs a little for now’, Tottenham aren’t willing to simply splurge on the 21-year-old with their Kane money.
They’ll want to ensure he comes at a price they are happy with, which clearly isn’t €30m+, regardless of the fact he has scored 25 goals in 26 appearances since arriving from Stabæk last January.
