On August 2nd, Het Nieuwsblad stated Tottenham Hotpsur have initiated contact with the entourage of KAA Gent star Gift Orban over a potential deal.

Spurs’ pursuit of the striker continues to be covered in the Belgian media. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to Twitter to state that talks are ongoing to take the 21-year-old to the north London club.

Tottenham haven’t tabled a bid yet but Tavolieri says “I’ve been told, it’s processing”. The journalist seems confident of the Premier League side making an offer to sign Orban.

The Nigeria international has scored 25 goals from 26 games since he joined the Jupiler Pro League side from Stabæk in January. This has seen him attract interest from several clubs, including Ange Postecoglou’s side.

Het Nieuwsblad state Gent are asking for more than €30m for Orban and this ‘seems too expensive’ for Spurs and other clubs who have shown interest in him.

The report adds agent Mogi Bayat is ‘called in to find a solution’ for the Nigeran, without making it clear who has called him. It’s to be noted Bayat doesn’t manage the player but is tasked with helping him get a move this summer.

Tottenham have identified a few targets, including Orban and Romelu Lukaku. Earlier today, Calciomercato reported Spurs are seriously considering signing the Chelsea player.
