Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou ‘seems destined’ for the Premier League at some point in his career after impressing in Scotland.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say the Bhoys manager has been considered by Marseille as he continues to be linked with a move away from Celtic Park and to Tottenham.
Postecoglou has been impressing at Celtic since arriving at the club in June 2021, when he was hired to wrest back the Scottish title from Rangers, who had taken it from Celtic for the first time in a decade.
He had not been the first choice that summer, with his appointment only coming after Celtic had missed out on the appointment of Eddie Howe.
That trio, as well as plenty of others, have developed into bonafide stars in Scotland under Postecoglou’s leadership and taken Celtic to back-to-back Scottish Premiership titles and League cups.
It’s seen the Australian manager linked with a move away and several reports have now indicated that he is at the top of Tottenham’s wish list amid their ongoing search for Antonio Conte’s permanent successor.
Another club who may have been interested were Marseille, who are now on their own hunt for a manager after parting ways with Igor Tudor.
However, according to FM, while Postecoglou’s name ‘has also been mentioned’ among potential candidates, the reality is that the Celtic manager ‘seems destined’ for the Premier League after impressing in Scotland.
Now, that doesn’t mean he will be on his way to Tottenham, but it seems other suitors are now convinced Postecoglou will be in England before too long and it isn’t worth trying to get him as a result.
