On Thursday Didier Deschamps will name his latest France squad and if the manager’s comments last week hold weight then Tottenham’s Moussa Sissoko will find himself in there.
Monday’s edition of French newspaper L’Equipe once again looks at the situation, and it’s pointed out that whilst Sissoko’s preferential status with Deschamps may help now, long term things can’t stay the same.
Should Pochettino continue to not give Sissoko prominence then L’Equipe say the midfielder ‘will have to change club’ if he wishes to continue to be part of the France set up.
Tottenham fans probably wouldn’t be too sad to see Sissoko leave, even as soon as the summer transfer window, but it represents a big wasted fee.
There’s also the question of where Sissoko would end up, given his last two seasons in English football have been far from impressive.
Maybe he should hope Didier Deschamps becomes a club manager.
