PSV Eindhoven want to keep striker Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva beyond the end of the season, having tried a longer deal in the first place.
That’s according to manager Ruud van Nistelrooy, who has confirmed the Dutch side will be talking with Wolves about extending the striker’s stay at the club.
He joined PSV on loan from Wolves in the January transfer window after a similar loan deal at Anderlecht was brought to a premature end.
He’s been impressing at PSV since, with four goals and one assist in 10 games for the Dutch side so far and plenty of positive reviews to boot.
Several reports have made it clear that PSV want to keep him from Wolves on a longer basis, with Van Nistelrooy admitting as much publicly.
“We wanted to rent him for a year and a half this summer, but that was not done according to the rules. We would also like to keep him there after this season,” Voetbal Primeur report him saying.
That deal ‘could not be done’ with Wolves and therefore he was rented to the Dutch club for the remainder of this season instead.
PSV ‘would like’ to keep him on after the end of this season, though, and they are ‘in contact’ with Wolves about making it happen.
Whether Julen Lopetegui and co are willing to sanction that remains to be seen, although given how well things have gone so far, it would certainly be in their interest to do so.
