Samuel Chukwueze has played 21 matches for Villarreal so far this season, in a variety of attacking roles. He’s scored five goals and added six assists, but is yet to find the back of the net in La Liga.
Despite that he’s still receiving interest from elsewhere, report Fichajes, and is expected to become the club’s record sale. A move in January isn’t thought to be on the cards, so a big transfer in the next summer window is the likelier scenario.
Liverpool are pushed forward as the main interested party, and it’s stated the Reds are ‘attentive’ to the 23-year-old. He’s said to be valued at €50m and it’s thought he could complete a ‘fearsome attack’ for Jurgen Klopp’s side, adding more options for the manager.
Atletico Madrid are said to be keen, and Liverpool could also face some competition from the Premier League. Fichjaes name Arsenal, Everton and West Ham as being in the chasing pack and that should help Villarreal push the price to the level they’re looking for.
Chukwueze has a contract lasting until June 2024, so interested clubs will hope they can use that to put pressure on the Spanish side.
