Rosario Central president Ricardo Carloni has revealed Brighton and Hove Albion have improved their offer for Facundo Buonanotte, although a deal is yet to be finalised.
Brighton have been chasing Buonanotte for several months, having tried to secure his signature throughout the summer transfer window.
At one point it looked like a deal had been done, only for Rosario to pull back amid fan backlash over the deal.
Brighton’s interest has not gone away, though, while the player, via his agent, has made it clear on several occasions that he wants the move to happen.
It seems there is still work to be done on the agreement between the two clubs, though, with Carloni insisting there is nothing in place when questioned on the situation today.
“The form of payment has been improved and Central need that income,” Rosario 3 report him saying.
“Let’s hope that the proposal, which has not yet been finalised, materialises and then we will analyse it.”
