FSV Mainz manager Bo Svensson has not ‘received any enquiries’ despite being linked with a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Wolves are searching for their next manager after electing to sack Bruno Lage last weekend following a disappointing start to the season.
Julen Lopetegui is the current favourite for the position, particularly after he was sacked by Sevilla and replaced with Jorge Sampaoli last night.
Several other names have been linked with the position, though, including Svensson, who was named as one of the club’s top targets by the English media earlier this week.
He’s been doing impressive work with the German side since taking charge in January last year and that’s earned him plenty of recognition.
Indeed, he was heavily linked with the Brighton job following Graham Potter’s move to Chelsea before they eventually hired Roberto De Zerbi.
“I was not contacted by this club,” Main Spitze report him saying about Brighton, before adding he had ‘not received any other enquiries’ despite being linked to Wolves.
“At the moment, I have a lot of work here anyway and am asked to give everything here.
“But I also know that things can change quickly in football. What happens to me if I don’t win any of the next ten games? Will they still stick with me then?
“But these things are not so essential because they are hypothetical questions. Because you never know in football how things will develop.
“But I can say very well in the here and now that I feel very comfortable and it’s very good for me to face the challenges, even if, like at the moment, things don’t go very, very well once.”
