Following their 4-0 loss to Ajax in the Champions League, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers FC will be looking ahead at the next fixture against Napoli, whose start in the competition was vastly different.
They beat Liverpool 4-1 in the Champions League’s first game, and yet Napoli still got some bad news last night, as their star Victor Osimhen left the match with an injury.
As confirmed by the Italian side, he had a muscle strain, which would leave him out of the weekend’s game against Spezia, but there was no information on how long it would take for him to recover, with the match against Rangers at Ibrox to be played next week.
According to journalist Oma Akatugba, however, who’s known for being close to Osimhen, the player could indeed be sidelined for two weeks, which would mean he wouldn’t be able to face Van Bronckhorst and co.
Rangers welcome Napoli at Ibrox on Tuesday, so it now seems very likely the Italian side won’t have their star available for the next match.
Osinhem continues to be of big importance for the Serie A side this season, as after staying at the club, he already has two goals and one assist made in the past few weeks.
After Rangers’ loss in their first Champions League clash to Ajax this week, the match against Napoli will be crucial for the Glasgow side to stay alive in the competition.
