Thomas Tuchel ruled out of new job already – Manager dismissed as option after Chelsea exit

Tuesday evening saw RB Leipzig lose 4-1 at home to Shakhtar Donetsk and Chelsea lose 1-0 away to Dinamo Zagreb.

Both clubs have since parted ways with their managers.

Domenico Tedesco has become the first Bundesliga coach to be fired this season, with the 36-year-old shown the door after only one win from five league matches.

The Champions League embarrassment was clearly the final straw.

At Chelsea, things haven’t been going quite as badly, with the Blues winning three of their six Premier League matches. However, that hasn’t stopped the club’s new owners from also choosing the sacking route and dispensing with Thomas Tuchel’s services.

Inevitably, early claims saw Tuchel linked with the Leipzig job and a super-quick return to management. Bild say that isn’t happening and that the former Chelsea coach isn’t a topic of conversation at the German club.

Instead, the frontrunner is Marco Rose, who was shown the door at Borussia Dortmund earlier this year. Initial talks have already been held, and it’s Rose rather than Tuchel who is lined up for the RB Leipzig role.
