Every time the Brazilian gets a chance to speak to Botafogo’s new owner John Textor, they’ll ask him about potential signings, and the big name on the list continues to be Manchester United star Edinson Cavani.
The striker’s contract with the Red Devils expires this summer, and given his wish of being back to South America, many Brazilian sides are hopeful of soon signing him for free.
Speaking to Botafogo Nela on Youtube, Textor once again admitted they’re working to sign the Manchester United player, but admitted how difficult it will be.
Botafogo’s chase for Cavani has been reported since Textor’s takeover at the club, as the businessman publicly admitted he’s a big fan of the Manchester United player.
However, following reports saying how much the striker was demanding to sign for the Brazilian side, it was recently claimed that the player and his agent got angry about the situation, and the talks went cold since then.
Still, it was said Botafogo wouldn’t give up, and it seems Textor is still hopeful indeed.
