If there is one man who still fully believes in Chelsea goalkeeper Keep Arrizabalaga for his skillset as a goalkeeper and not just a penalty stopper, it’s Maurizio Sarri.

The Italian manager, now at Lazio, has been dreaming of reuniting with the Spaniard in Rome, but he knows it won’t be easy.

That doesn’t mean the Serie A side have completely given up on him, because Corriere della Sera’s Roma edition have a bit on Sarri’s desire to sign the Chelsea man.

They explain the manager ‘would gladly resume’ his working relationship with the goalkeeper, but there are a couple of problems.

The main one is ‘the cost of the transfer’, but the other ‘above all’ happens to be the player’s wages, which stand at around €7m/year.

They then add that if Chelsea ‘were to move forward’ with Édouard Mendy, which we all know they will, then ‘the only viable option’ would be a ‘loan with a large part of the salary paid by the English club’.

The issue there is the current situation at Stamford Bridge, although that could all disappear if an ownership change were to take place in the next few months.
