Tammy Abraham has impressed for AS Roma since joining the Serie A side from Chelsea.
So far this season, the 24-year-old has scored 23 goals in 40 matches, adding four assists along the way. That kind of form has encouraged transfer rumours and seen the player linked with multiple Premier League clubs.
Corriere dello Sport report ‘many clubs’ have asked for information on the signing, and Manchester United are presented as being in that category. According to the report from the Italian newspaper, the Red Devils are ‘ready to make a big investment’ to secure the player in the summer window.
However, Roma won’t sell Abraham ‘for any amount’, partly because it wouldn’t go down well with manager Jose Mourinho. Then there’s also the Chelsea issue.
Corriere dello Sport explain that as part of the transfer agreement, it was set that the attacker would stay at Roma until at least 2023, at which time the Blues have a repurchase option of €80m.
There’s suggestions there could be a way around that, but it’s not something Roma would look into because they have no interest in a sale.
There’s every chance Manchester United are being linked with this transfer, which seems near impossible, to help hype Abraham and underline Roma’s stance with him.
