Manchester City could turn their attention to Sevilla striker Youssef En Nesyri if they fail to sign Erling Haaland next summer.
That’s according to Fichajes, who say they will be ‘knocking on Sevilla’s door’ for the striker as they look to bolster that position.
Manchester City currently do not have a recognised centre forward in their squad after Sergio Aguero left for Barcelona in the summer.
It was something they tried to address with the signing of Harry Kane, which ultimately didn’t come to pass as they couldn’t negotiate a deal with Tottenham.
The competition for Haaland is fierce, though, and Fichajes speculate that if they ‘fail to land’ Haaland, they could turn to En Nesyri instead.
He’s available for €50m, a price that Manchester City would have no problem matching and has the sort of characteristics that Pep Guardiola is looking for in his new forward. To put it bluntly, he’s a ‘killer in the box’.
It’s made clear he’s not at the top of City’s list by any means; that is clearly Haaland or Kane, but there is interest there and a feeling that the Moroccan fits the bill.
