Leeds United forward Hélder Costa has admitted he wasn’t enjoying his football at Elland Road before his move to Valencia this summer.
The forward joined the Spanish side on loan at the end of the transfer window after Leeds’ move for Dan James pushed him further down the pecking order.
He endured something of a rocky start to life in Spain, with a series of disappointing performances earning him plenty of criticism and inspection.
He’s since bounced back, though, with some extra work done over the last international break seeing him fully adapt to Jose Bordalas’ system.
He’s now very much important in Bordalas’ system and has shared his delight with how things are going at the club.
He recently admitted he wasn’t enjoying the best of moments at Leeds, and that’s a sentiment he’s shared again.
“I was not in a good situation in England,” Super Sport report him saying.
“I feel better here. Valencia gave me the opportunity to restart my career and enjoy football again.
“I think this is the ideal place for that, and the teammates have received me in a very positive way, making me feel like I’ve been part of the team for a long time.”
