Manchester City are ‘keen on’ Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as he continues to impress in Italy this season.
That’s according to journalist Ciro Venerato, who backs up reports from Italy today that City are looking at the Nigerian forward.
Pep Guardiola currently lacks a true number nine in his squad, having failed to get a move for Harry Kane over the line this summer.
That’s left him short up front, with Gabriel Jesus operating in more of a wide role so far this season and plenty of doubts about whether he can fill the void left by Sergio Aguero.
He has scored six goals in six games in all competitions this season, the kind of form that hasn’t gone unnoticed, something Venerato explained in a recent appearance on Rai 2.
“At Napoli, the accounts come back, the last market orchestrated by Giuntoli brought Anguissa and 10 million in assets,” Area Napoli report him saying.
“The midfielder cost only half a million euros on loan, with the wages also paid in part by Fulham. Lowered the cost of labour, minus 15 million compared to last season.
“Osimhen is already worth three times as much, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester City all keen on the Nigerian.”
