Calcio Mercato’s blog Vivo Per Lei today features a piece about Juventus’ current need for a striker, as they claim Alvaro Morata isn’t good enough to be the club’s main goalscorer.
Their piece lists several centre-forwards who could be a target for the Old Lady next season, and among them, there’s of course the name of Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.
Now it’s well known how hard it is to take the 21-year-old from La Viola, as they fought hard to keep him this summer, and there’s another issue which should concern Juventus, which is the competition from Manchester City.
Vivo Per Lei writes that Pep Guardiola’s side were the first to try to snatch the player in the last transfer window, and despite the failure, they’re ‘ready to return’ for the transfer.
Good thing for Juventus is that Vlahovic ‘has made no secret’ that he’d rather stay in Italy, so the Old Lady feel a little more confident about the competition.
Fiorentina are willing to give the player a new contract, which would run until 2026 and will likely have a release clause worth €70m only for abroad.
In case it’s confirmed, that’s probably how much Manchester City would need to put on the table to finally get him, while Juve would find it a bit tougher, since that clause doesn’t apply to them as Fiorentina won’t want to reinforce a Serie A side, having already done so in the past with Federico Chiesa.
