Paris Saint-Germain’s poor start to the season (by their standards) is raising a lot of questions, especially when the club still haven’t filled the gaps left by the departing Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Luiz.
For certain players, coming second in their Champions League group and a third spot in the league isn’t enough midway through the season, and Le10 Sport say Marco Verratti could start looking elsewhere, with Antonio Conte’s Chelsea an option.
One problem that could stop the player moving to Stamford Bridge is the alleged £250k/week cap in place, considering the player is already earning a comfortable wage at Paris Saint-Germain, which leaves Chelsea very little negotiating room. 
Furthermore, the fact the Ligue 1 champions could ask for around €100m for their star limits the number of clubs capable of affording his services.
Antonio Conte’s side were already linked with the Italian maestro back in the summer, but with Unai Emery making it clear he counted on Verratti and Chelsea’s lack of European football, a move was never going to take place.
However, a return to the Champions League (and maybe a Premier League title) could be the boost needed to make the team attractive enough again to lure someone of Verratti’s calibre.
Especially if Paris Saint-Germain continue in their current trajectory.
