It’s decision day for Europa League Group A, a group that many considered as Champions League calibre, with 3-times winner Manchester United, a good footballing tradition with a core of young stars at Feyenoord and crazy Turks in Fenerbahçe are competing.
Ahead of the group’s decision day Fenerbahçe boss Dick Advocaat, who was previously worked at Sunderland, answered questions at the pre-match conference along with on-loan Sunderland player Jeremain Lens.
Fenerbahçe’s experienced coach has some predictions, and an interesting one for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United fans.
Quoted by Aspor, Advocaat said: “I think Manchester United will lose against Zorya Luhanks in the Ukraine. We and Feyenoord will qualify for the knockout stages.”
Advocaat also added: ”This is a tough group we have done well so far except the Man United away game. Ten points normally is enough for you, but here we are fighting for a spot in the knockout stages. It’s not easy. Even if a ‘loss with one goal’ is enough for us, it’s still a tough battle. Both teams will want to win, and of course Man United will want to win.”
It’s another big day for Fenerbahçe’s in form striker Robin van Persie as he making his return to his boyhood team Feyenoord. Advocaat said he’ll play at DeKuip and he expects van Persie to put it another show Fenerbahçe today.
