There was a time when Wolves star Raúl Jimenez was only one of the many options that Juventus had for the transfer window. Then the rumours grew over the past few months, and it’s now fair to say he’s pointed out as one of the Old Lady’s priority signings.
Newspaper Tuttosport writes today that the operation to sign the Mexican striker is now backed up by two very important people at the Italian side: Cristiano Ronaldo and Andrea Pirlo.
It’s been reported for a while that Ronaldo would like to have Jimenez by his side in the team, and now it’s said that in a meeting yesterday, the manager gave the ‘green light’ for the transfer.
Maurizio Sarri had a ‘soft spot’ for Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik, however, that changes with Pirlo now in charge.
Tuttosport says the idea would be to have a new striker for next week, but that’s the ‘mission impossible’ for Juventus, which only Jorge Mendes, the ‘Tom Cruise of agents’, could make happen.
Due to Wolves’ high demands, the representative would have to use his creativity to find a deal with the club. Tuttosport claims that a swap involving the likes of Aaron Ramsey or Cristian Romero seems unlikely for now, and a two-year loan with an obligation to buy ‘isn’t excluded’.
