For those who don’t just follow their club on our website and just keep up to date on all things transfer, then the name Brandon Soppy might ring a bell.
The French right-back, who currently plays for Rennes in France, has caught the eye of a couple of clubs in England over the past year or so, with both Arsenal and Wolverhampton linked with him.
However, the youngster, who has represented France’s U18s 11 times already, is also on Celtic’s radar.
This comes from Manu Lonjon, a journalist working for Eurosport, who took to social media to explain that RB Leipzig, who recently knocked Tottenham out of the Champions League, were ‘accelerating strongly’ on the defender.

In the same tweet, he added that other clubs, specifically naming Nice and Celtic, were also interested.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise since the Scottish Premiership champions have a history of bringing in French players, and with Moritz Bauer left out more often than not, Soppy could be brought to Parkhead to provide competition for Jeremie Frimpong in the long run.
Just something to think about, as Neil Lennon and co. seemingly continue to plan for the future.
