Trabzonspor vice president Mehmet Yigit Alp has spoken to the Turkish press after his side’s 6-2 win against Kayserispor at the weekend.

Speaking about possible transfers in January as covered by TRT Spor, Alp said Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye is a target and they are working hard to complete a deal for the Senegal international: “Badou Ndiaye is on our agenda at the moment. We held talks with him, but this is not an easy process. We need to create resources to sign the players. Let’s see what will happen.”

Earlier reports in the Turkish media said the Karadeniz Firtinasi were close to the Stoke City player on a loan deal, but rival Super Lig side club Galatasaray are also said to be interested in signing their former player.

Ndiaye is expected to leave Stoke City during the transfer window as he hasn’t been a part of Michael O’Neill’s squad since their game against Blackburn Rovers on the 30th of November.

Last season he was loaned to Gala following the Potter’s relegation from the Premier League and during the last window he was again linked with a return to Turkey.

His contract with the Championship club will expire at the end of June 2022.
