Besiktas’ new president Ahmet Nur Cebi has given an exclusive interview to Bein Sports Turkey via Futbol Arena and discussed constant reports linking Everton striker Cenk Tosun with a move to the Super Lig side.
The Turkish international has been strongly linked with a return to his former club but Cebi has confirmed no contact has been made with the Everton player: “Cenk Tosun is currently not on our agenda. If we show some interest in the near future for our former players, then I think they will come. But that’s not possible at this stage.”
Tosun scored a 97th-minute equaliser against Tottenham Hotspur yesterday which was his first Premier League goal this season.
However, the 28 year old has played just four games for Marco Silva’s side this campaign. Despite coming off the bench in all four matches he’s scored two goals and provided two assists.
Earlier today we covered reports from Turkey that Serie A clubs Lecce and Sassoulo are showing an interest in the Everton forward, and he may want to go out on loan in January with Euro 2020 around the corner.
Tosun is under contract with the Premier League side until June 2022.
