Earlier on Thursday, Gazzetta dello Sport suggested the possibility of Manchester City offering €40m + Danilo for Joao Cancelo in order to avoid paying €60m.

The idea made sense, seeing as Juventus would be gaining a replacement for the Portuguese defender all the while making their money back on their expenditure from last summer.

However, SportMediaset have come out on Thursday afternoon with a big claim, explaining the deal is ‘very close to the final conclusion’, and Danilo will not be included as a part of it.

It appears that instead of €40m + the Brazilian, Manchester City will end up paying ‘around €50m’ for the defender’s services, meaning the Serie A champions will make a €10m profit on the player after just one year.

Wanting to conclude the deal early in order to add the funds to their balance ahead of June 30th, Juventus appear pleased with the outcome.

The 25-year-old made 34 appearances in all competitions last year under Max Allegri, scoring one goal and picking up eight assists along the way.
