Up there with some of West Ham’s best investments in recent years, Lukasz Fabianski in enjoying a relatively good season with the Hammers.
The Polish goalkeeper saw his stock rise considerably ever since his exit from Arsenal, with a successful four years at Swansea leading to his £7m transfer to London Stadium in the summer.
However, as good as he is, Fabianski is 33 years of age, and it appears West Ham are already thinking about the future, according to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch newspaper, in an article about Barcelona’s interest in André Onana, claim the Hammers are among a long list of clubs keeping an eye on the Ajax goalkeeper.
Any transfer won’t come cheap, though, as De Telegraaf state Ajax would only start considering a transfer if a minimum of €30m was offered.
In today’s market, that is still a lot for a goalkeeper, especially for a club like West Ham who, while not shy to spend big, have only broken that barrier once: for Felipe Anderson.
The most they’ve ever spent on a goalkeeper? £7m on Fabianski.
It’s certainly one to keep an eye on, but it seems unlikely all the same.
