Even though the British press continues to provide updates on Porto’s chase for the Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham, the Portuguese media has been acting differently lately.
This week, all the local papers had were articles covering the stories that came from England or Scotland. It’s been a while since they last had an exclusive on the negotiations.
And as O Jogo covers the latest claims today, they’re not very confident when the British media said that Celtic have already rejected a €15m offer for the player.
The Portuguese newspaper claims that it looks like too much money for Porto. That’s why a solution for it would be to get just a percentage of Ntcham’s rights, as it often happens in Portugal.
Portuguese clubs like to break selling records every year, but it’s quite rare for them to spend over €10m on a single signing. The very same page of O Jogo shows that the club have spent €19m with signings and made €65m with sales this season.
Probably aware of that, Celtic won’t just give Ntcham away only because he’s keen on playing the Champions League for some other club.
