There’s a claim in the Spanish media that Watford have ‘practically’ ruled out a deal to sign Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Watford in recent weeks, but it looks like he’ll be staying in La Liga.

Sport today report that despite talks between Barcelona and Watford they haven’t been able to come to an agreement and any possible deal now looks dead. The Premier League side were reportedly looking to loan the 24 year old for the season.

Yesterday we covered reports from Spain that Watford were in talks with Barcelona with regards to signing the forward. It was claimed the English club wanted to loan the player, with a right of redemption.

Alcacer was reportedly open to a transfer to Watford, but it seems the Hornets have pulled out of a deal for the Barcelona man.

The forward made 17 league appearances for the Spanish champions last season.
