It’s always exciting when a new rumour pops up, especially when we happen to stumble across them when searching for something else.
That’s exactly what happened with Sampdoria’s potential interest in Watford’s Miguel Britos, as the Serie A side look to bolster their defence ahead of the new campaign.
According to Il Secolo XIX, the Uruguayan defender was offered to Sampdoria on Monday, who are looking for someone capable of giving them ‘ample guarantees, even as a starter’, having already added Omar Colley from KRC Genk to their defensive ranks this summer.
The centre-back only has one year left on his contract with the Hornets, renewing it until 2019 towards the end of May after a relatively football free season at Vicarage Road.
The 33-year-old missed a large chunk of the last campaign with a foot injury, and never really managed to win back the starting spot he had under Marco Silva once Javi Gracia took over.
Making just 12 appearances, during which he picked up three yellows and a red, Britos could be one of the players Watford look to get rid of this summer, especially if someone is willing to pay money for him.
