RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg was linked with a move to Arsenal in January.

Former Gunners manager Arsene Wenger reportedly wanted to bring the attacking midfielder to the Emirates during the mid-season transfer window, but the deal did n’t take shape.

There were then reports from Germany and Italy which claimed the north London club are still interested in the Swedish international, with Arsenal interest backed up by at least two sources.

The 26-year-old has been attracting interest from clubs across Europe. Forsberg’s current deal at Leipzig runs down in 2022 and the player has stressed that he is ready to take the “next big step” in his career.

Forsberg has also revealed he’s in regular contact with his employers and has set his sights on playing for one of the “strongest clubs in the world”.

“I’m ready for the next big step. That’s going to be very interesting. I am in dialogue with RB and always had a good exchange with the club. I have the dream to play for the strongest clubs in the world,” Forsberg told Fotbollskanalen, as quoted by Bild.

The German publication covers Arsenal interest, and also goes on to mention “concrete interest” from the Premier League and La Liga.
