Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports David Oduro has been with Barcelona’s B team for a few weeks, as he tries to impress them and add to the options he’ll have later this year.

The 17-year-old is from Ghana and went through his training with Accra Lions, who have connections with German football legend Lothar Matthäus.

He’s already been on trial at Chelsea, and Mundo Deportivo believe it could all be part of a tour around Europe as the youngster and his advisors try to find the best option for his future.

The young left back can’t sign for a European club until he turns 18 in December, so there’s a long fight ahead for Chelsea and other clubs who can build interest along the way.

According to the Catalan newspaper, Oduro made a ‘great impression’ whilst on trial at Chelsea, and he’s now trying to do the same thing with Barcelona.

Lothar Matthäus is said to rate the player highly and has even compared him to a young Alphonso Davies, partly due to his speed.

Now it’s a waiting game and a potential fight for Chelsea and those in charge of transfers at Stamford Bridge.
