In what could be potential bad news for both Tottenham and Djurgården, Lucas Bergvall has just picked up an injury on international duty.
This comes from Aftonbladet, who comment on the game that saw Sweden’s U21s beat North Macedonia’s U21s by a 2-0 scoreline.
The Tottenham signing, who will be joining Ange Postecoglou’s side in the summer, was a starter in the game, but had to come off after 60 minutes or so.
It’s pointed out that Mihail Dimitrievski ‘stamped on Lucas Bergvall’s foot’, and the talented midfielder was then replaced after ‘limping around the pitch for a while’.
This is said to be ‘worrying’ for Djurgården, who have their first game in the league at the weekend, which he could now miss.
Hopefully for all involved, including Tottenham, it’s nothing serious, but you can be sure that Spurs will be enquiring and receiving updates about any tests that might take place, as it has been well reported they are very involved with the Swedish team, especially when it comes to their latest signing.
The London side beat a number of teams to secure the 18-year-old’s arrival for next summer, and the idea would be for him to immediately enter Postecoglou’s plans for the 2024-25 season.
